Everyone likes to get good grades and succeed. Okay, that is a lie. School is a joke to most people now a days, but there are still the people out there who are more competitive than the plastics themselves (Mean Girls Quote). Those people are teachers pets. Heard of them? Know one? Yeah, I thought so.
A typical teachers pet is someone who:
- kisses major butt
- sucks up to a teacher
- is needy for attention
- thinks they can get better grades by being a so called teachers "pet" to the teacher.
Now i know there is always multiple reasons for the ways people act, but the reasons for being a teachers pet are just downright ridiculous.
Here are some reasons:
- the pet believes he/she will get a better grade
- the pet wants attention
- the pet believes he/she will get special treatment
- the pet lacks self confidence and needs a boost in his/hers overly low self esteem
Chances are your brains are oozing out of your ears because you are already a genius so whats the point of trying? Let those whose brains are the same size as a squirrels have a chance to suck up a little. Trust me they need it.
Not all teachers pets are bad people though. I happen to be friends with some. I do not enjoy the day to day butt kissing that goes in the classroom everyday. I am here to learn and compete for a fair grade not be beaten by someone who is a favorite and gets special treatment. Lets keep school and academic war zone and hope that this species of teachers pets dies out one day. It will probably never happen, but at least we have some hope. Somewhere.
I agree. I liked how you said that teachers pets are not all bad people. It helps to put more people on your side. Your parallelism was really strong, and I liked your use of bullet points. I love the Mean Girls quote and how you stated that school is a joke for some people. It is realatable while introducing your pet peeve.
ReplyDeleteYou're post is very relatable. When I was in 7th grade I had a teacher who picked favorites. I was not one of them. Some people would bring her candy and give her compliments every day. It really annoyed me because she would be nicer to them even though everyone else did just as much work. Great job!
I love the voice and passion in your blog. It is very enjoyable and relatable. I really like the way you related the teacher's pets to dogs. Also, I like your title it made me very interested in reading your blog. I really liked that you put in that not all teacher's pets are bad. my favorite part was when you called school an academic war zone. nice job, it was really good.
